Social Media Strange Brew
Getting back to basics is always a good idea. With that being said...let's head to Wikipedia...
Social media are media for social interaction, using highly accessible and scalable publishing techniques. Social media uses web-based technologies to turn communication into interactive dialogues.
(The descriptive keywords here link to more "wiki" articles on topic in a broad sense.)
So grab your self a cup of coffee, sit on down and engage yourself in some interactive dialogue. Facebook is easy to post information but engaging in interactive dialogues is a little more difficult.
So here is what I've noticed that people react to:
- Questions that they WANT to answer.
- Are you asking?Â
- Are you engaging a response?
- Online specials that they WANT (coupons or specials such as give-aways.)
- Simple one day 25% off coupon they can forward on and be considered a "Hero."
- Chance to enter to win T-shirt or book or whatever.
- The opportunity to make personal observations.
- Post an image and ask for captions.
Kind of a strange brew... What you put in is going to mix with what others also put in. How much you engage your "Fans" or "Friends" can only be measured by how much interaction you get back.
So with that being said, become a "Fan" at my Facebook page and I will mail you a cup of coffee.
